Buyer Protection & Returns Policy
Halfeys is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers — we provide the platform, the pricing engine, and the tools to make listing and buying easy. The seller of each item is responsible for that item's accuracy, condition, and any return or refund policy offered on it.
This page explains how that works and what to expect if an item you buy isn't what you expected.
How Responsibility Works on Halfeys
Halfeys is not the seller of any item listed on the platform, and we do not take ownership, custody, or possession of items between listing and delivery. Because of this:
- Sellers are solely responsible for accurately describing their item's condition, completeness, and any flaws before listing it.
- Sellers are solely responsible for fulfilling the order and shipping the correct, described item to the buyer.
- Sellers set and honor their own return policy for ordinary returns, exchanges, or final-sale purchases.
- Halfeys may review reports and take marketplace action when a listing breaks Halfeys rules, including wrong-item, counterfeit, non-functioning, materially not-as-described, or missing-included-component claims.
In short: Halfeys provides the marketplace and the pricing system. The seller stands behind what they sell, and Halfeys may enforce marketplace rules when a seller breaks them.
What This Means for You as a Buyer
- Read the full listing carefully, including the seller's stated condition notes, photos, and any return policy before purchasing.
- For ordinary returns, the seller's stated return policy controls whether returns are accepted and who pays return shipping.
- Even when a seller lists an item as final sale, they are still responsible for shipping the correct item in the condition and completeness described.
- Keep records. If an issue arises, photos of the item as received, packaging, tracking, and your order confirmation can help Halfeys review the report.
Not-as-Described Issues
A seller may choose their own return policy, including final sale. But final sale does not allow a seller to misrepresent the item. Halfeys may review and act on reports like:
- The wrong item was shipped.
- The item does not function as the listing said it would.
- The item has hidden material damage not shown or described.
- The item is counterfeit or not the product represented.
- Important parts or accessories explicitly listed as included are missing.
If you believe an item is materially not as described, contact the seller first when possible and keep your photos, packaging, tracking, and order confirmation. During beta, you can also contact Halfeys support at help@halfeys.com.
What Halfeys Does and Doesn't Do
Halfeys does:
- Operate the marketplace platform where sellers list and buyers purchase items.
- Maintain the pricing system that sets each listing at 50% of the lowest tracked retail price.
- Provide the tools sellers use to list, describe, and price their items.
- Facilitate the transaction between buyer and seller.
- Review marketplace rule reports and take action against listings, sellers, or payouts when appropriate.
Halfeys does not:
- Own, warehouse, inspect, authenticate, or take custody of items before or after sale.
- Guarantee an item's condition, authenticity, completeness, or functionality unless Halfeys explicitly says otherwise on that listing.
- Promise buyer-remorse returns when a seller's listing states final sale.
- Use AI price or listing tools as a guarantee that an item will match the seller's claims.
Disclaimers
Seller claims stay the seller's responsibility. Representations about an item's condition, authenticity, completeness, and functionality are made by the seller, not by Halfeys. Halfeys pricing and listing tools do not guarantee those claims.
Ordinary returns follow the seller's policy. For fit, preference, buyer's remorse, or other ordinary return reasons, the seller's stated policy controls whether a return is accepted and who pays return shipping.
Marketplace enforcement is not a platform guarantee. Halfeys may review reports, request evidence, remove listings, pause or restrict seller accounts, or take payout action where allowed. That review does not make Halfeys the seller, owner, inspector, or guarantor of the item.
Seller accountability. Sellers who misrepresent items or fail to honor their stated policies may be subject to platform action, including listing removal, payout review, selling limits, suspension, or removal from Halfeys.
Legal compliance. Nothing in this policy limits any rights buyers may have under applicable consumer protection law, where such rights cannot be waived by agreement.
Our Recommendation
Before buying, take a moment to check the listing for the seller's return policy and read the condition notes closely. Because Halfeys pricing is fixed and transparent, there's no back-and-forth negotiating — but the seller's description and photos are still the main source of truth for the item you're getting. When in doubt, ask questions before you buy.
